Istanbul Airport Takes Top Spot for Best Airport Dining in 2024 Skytrax Awards

Istanbul Airport, also known as Istanbul New Airport, has been recognized for its exceptional food and beverage offerings by securing the prestigious Skytrax Award for Best Airport Dining in 2024. This achievement underscores the airport’s commitment to providing passengers with a delightful culinary experience during their travels.

The Skytrax Awards are widely regarded as the most coveted accolades within the aviation industry, highlighting the world’s leading airlines and airports. To determine the Best Airport Dining winner, Skytrax conducted a comprehensive survey from August 2023 to March 2024. Passengers were evaluated on their experience regarding the variety and quality of food and beverages available at airports. This encompassed cafes, bars, restaurants, fast-food outlets, and value for money.

As evidenced by the award, Istanbul Airport boasts an impressive array of restaurants showcasing both Turkish and international cuisines. Passengers can choose from a diverse selection of options, including bakeries, patisseries, bars, renowned coffee shops, fast-food chains, and convenient self-service restaurants or buffets.

This recognition extends beyond Best Airport Dining. Notably, Istanbul Airport was also named the Best Airport in Southern Europe during the same Skytrax ceremony. This signifies that Istanbul Airport offers the premier dining experience among airports in Southern Europe, surpassing Singapore’s Changi Airport according to the 2024 World Airport Awards.

The Skytrax awards are based on extensive passenger surveys conducted by the UK-based air transport rating company. Following Istanbul Airport, Seoul Incheon Airport in South Korea secured the third-place position. Doha Hamad International Airport (Qatar) and Rome Fiumicino Airport (Italy) were also recognized. Other top-ranked airports include Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, Munich Airport, Tokyo Haneda Airport, Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airport, and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
